This is the earliest complete prologue. In a way, it was an epilogue at the same time, since the events in this scene happen after the events in the book. It’s presented as a fast summary of the story in the form of a conversation between Kalynn and her friend Letitia, while it gives the reader a hint of Kalynn’s crazy world and some very disturbing events in the story.
I felt that I could make best use of the material in this scene by revealing it in stages throughout the book, rather than in one lump at the start. So I dropped this altogether, and wrote an even darker prologue, which featured Alexa.
